Calibration
CEH is a calibration laboratory with more than 20 years of experience in the field of torque calibration. Since 2022, we have also been accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018. We are happy to calibrate your test equipment as an ISO/factory calibration or as an accredited DAkkS calibration.

What is calibration?
During calibration, a standard is compared with a measuring device. The deviations are documented with the measurement uncertainty and a calibration certificate is issued.
Why should measuring equipment be calibrated?
The well-known standards in the industry, such as the ISO 9000 series or IATF 16949, are placing ever higher quality requirements on companies. It is therefore important that all measuring equipment used for quality-relevant tasks in the company is calibrated.
What is the calibration hierarchy
The calibration hierarchy, also often referred to as the calibration pyramid, reflects the various traceability levels of measurement technology. At the top of the calibration hierarchy is the respective national institute of a country. In Germany, this is the Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB). Then come the accredited laboratories. This includes the company CEH The test laboratories can be found on the next level At the last level of the calibration hierarchy are the measuring devices used in industry. The higher up a point is in the calibration hierarchy, the smaller the measurement uncertainty offered for the calibration of the measuring equipment will be.
Transferaufnehmer: Welches Modell passt?

What is traceability to the SI system of units?
In short, it means traceability to the international system of units. In the CEH calibration laboratory, all reference standards can be traced back to the national standard via an uninterrupted series of calibrations.
What types of calibration are there?
The customer can choose between a DAkkS calibration and a factory calibration.
What is the difference between DAkkS and factory calibration?
Only accredited calibration laboratories may issue DAkkS calibration certificates. DAkkS calibrations are checked and monitored at regular intervals by the accreditation body for their form, structure and content. Traceability to the national standard is directly guaranteed Factory calibrations are not subject to monitoring by the accreditation body. There is no traceability to the national standard. In addition, factory calibration certificates are without measurement uncertainty specifications.
When does a measuring device need to be calibrated?
When does a measuring device need to be calibrated? This is often referred to as the calibration interval. The measuring equipment must be calibrated:
- If it has been subjected to a severe overload
- Was exposed to improper handling
- After an adjustment or repair
In principle, only recommendations can be made as to when a measuring device should be calibrated. We recommend recalibration after 12-24 months.
What is measurement uncertainty? The measurement uncertainty is a parameter that can be specified with the measurement result and characterises the scatter of the measured values. The measurement uncertainty is always specified in +/-.
The “smallest achievable measurement uncertainty” attainable by a laboratory is checked for accuracy by the DAkkS and verified by reference measurements. It is stated in the laboratory’s accreditation certificate and provides information on the reproducibility and repeatability of the laboratory’s calibration procedures.
The following rule of thumb applies: the smaller the laboratory’s smallest possible measurement uncertainty, the more precise the calibration result.
